I Met the Woolly Orphans
Mothering, in Lambspeak
Friends,
I went to meet the orphans.
Since their mama died, my friend Ruth has been feeding them every four hours.
They’re adorable, thriving. A wooly Abbott and Costello on eight legs. Thick as thieves.
Inside that little shed was more, too—about motherhood, survival, tenderness, mundanity and wonder.
As I watched, something deep in my chest ached.
Miles away now, part of me is still in that barn.
How do these images speak to you? I’d love to hear.

There is such imp in those expressions!
The season of new life... both physically and spiritually, brings me such joy. I love those sweet little soft creatures in that barn. What a tender beautiful sentiment in the telling of their story. Easter love to you, too, my sweet friend!
